# Video: Interesting Times in Eldoret as Youth Throw Away Ruto’s UDA T-Shirts After This Happened

**Dramatic scenes unfolded in Eldoret City on Saturday, October 17, 2026, after
frustrated youths were captured on video throwing away UDA-branded T-shirts following
President William Ruto’s political rally.**

In footage that has since gone viral, the young people, believed to be university
students in the area, are heard lamenting that they were allegedly promised money
to attend the rally, only for those who mobilised them to disappear without paying
them.

The incident occurred shortly after President Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza allies addressed
a massive crowd in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, in a show of political mobilisation
that sent a strong message to the opposition.

However, what appeared to be a successful political gathering soon became the subject
of online debate after the video emerged, shifting attention from the large crowds
to the alleged frustrations of some of the young attendees.

According to the claims made in the circulating footage, the students had been mobilised
to attend the UDA rally with the expectation that they would receive money for their
participation. They now claim that the individuals who allegedly made the promises
could not be found after the event.

The apparent decision to discard the party-branded T-shirts has since attracted
attention, with social media users discussing the role of financial incentives in
political mobilisation and the treatment of young people during campaign activities.

Eldoret remains a significant political centre for President Ruto, particularly
as political leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election. The
rally brought together government allies and supporters in a demonstration of the
ruling coalition’s ability to draw crowds.

Nevertheless, the allegations emerging after the event have raised questions about
accountability among political mobilisers.

The identities of those accused of promising payment have not been independently
established, and no official response addressing the claims was provided in the
available account.

As the video continues to circulate, further clarification from the students and
the organisers involved will be necessary to establish the full circumstances surrounding
the incident.
