# Gachagua Calls Out Sifuna Over Farouk Kibet’s Inroads in Western Region

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has challenged Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna
to firmly protect his Western region political backyard, warning that political 
opponents are capitalizing on local silence to make aggressive inroads.

Speaking during the official launch of Sifuna’s _Linda Mwananchi_ movement party
in Nairobi, Gachagua expressed deep concern over the political moves of Farouk Kibet,
a key aide to President William Ruto.

According to Gachagua, Kibet has been camping in Western Kenya, specifically making
political stops in Malava to launch attacks on Sifuna and his movement without facing
robust pushback from local leaders.

Gachagua was among several high-profile political figures present at the launch,
joining Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya
to celebrate Sifuna’s milestone.

Addressing the delegates, Gachagua emphasized that any serious bid for national 
leadership requires complete dominance at home. He noted that allowing political
rivals to maneuver unchallenged in Western Kenya poses a significant risk to Sifuna’s
broader political ambitions.

“It is concerning to see Farouk Kibet camping in Western region, attacking Sifuna
in places like Malava, while supporters remain silent,” Gachagua stated, advising
Sifuna to “lock down” Western Kenya completely if he intends to make a strong bid
for top national office.

Governor Natembeya also echoed concerns over Kibet’s activities in the region, reaffirming
the call for local leaders to defend their political turf.

The launch of the _Linda Mwananchi_ movement marks a key shift in Western region
politics, with opposition leaders rallying together to solidify their strongholds
ahead of upcoming national political realignments.
