Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has stirred Kenyan politics after endorsing a Linda
Mwanainchi candidate in a viral video.

## Ruto Receives Unexpected News from Western Kenya

President [William Ruto](https://steshanews.co.ke/drama-as-rutos-ally-is-heckled-forced-to-stop-the-speech/)
has received unexpected political news from Western, fueling debate across Kenya
Kwanza circles.

Lusaka, appointed by Ruto to lead his reelection bid in Western Kenya, shocked many
with the declaration.

## Lusaka Endorses Tim Wanyonyi for Bungoma Governor

In the video, the Bungoma governor said Tim Wanyonyi, the Linda Mwanainchi candidate,
should succeed him as county leader.

Lusaka urged residents to back Wanyonyi so he can finish the development projects
started during his administration.

Wanyonyi, the Westlands MP, has positioned himself as a serious contender for the
Bungoma gubernatorial seat.

## Didmas Barasa Allies Fume Over Endorsement

The endorsement has left supporters of [Didmas Barasa, the projected UDA candidate for ](https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/western/article/2001560930/bungoma-politics-heats-up-as-didmus-breaks-ranks-with-wetangula)
Bungoma governor, visibly fuming.

Barasa’s allies argue the remarks undermine UDA’s grassroots mobilization and weaken
Kenya Kwanza unity ahead of the 2027 General Election.

## Cracks in Kenya Kwanza Ahead of 2027

Political analysts say the comments expose cracks within the ruling coalition in
Western Kenya’s vote-rich region.

Western remains a key battleground, and Ruto’s reelection strategy depends heavily
on strong support from Bungoma County voters.

## Kenyans React to Viral Video

The video spread rapidly on social media, with Kenyans debating whether it signals
a deeper political realignment in Western.

Critics question how [Lusaka](https://ntvkenya.co.ke/news/bungoma-governor-kenneth-lusaka-mourns-death-of-his-mother/)
can lead Ruto’s campaign while publicly supporting a candidate from a rival political
formation.

Supporters, however, say the governor is simply choosing a successor who can protect
and complete ongoing county projects.

## Will Ruto Reprimand Lusaka?

It remains unclear whether President Ruto will reprimand Lusaka over the remarks
made at the Bungoma County event.

UDA leaders have yet to issue an official statement, leaving political observers
watching closely for the party’s next move.

The unfolding drama could reshape Bungoma politics, Kenya Kwanza’s Western strategy,
and alliances as the 2027 election approaches.
