# Video: Police Raid George Natembeya’s Milimani Home in Attempt to Arrest Him

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya is facing fresh political and security tensions
after police officers reportedly raided his Milimani residence in an apparent attempt
to arrest him.

A video circulating online shows a group of General Service Unit (GSU) officers
at the governor’s home, with local residents reportedly gathering at the gate as
the situation unfolds.

The circumstances surrounding the reported operation remain unclear, as authorities
have yet to publicly explain the reasons behind the attempted arrest.

The incident comes amid escalating tensions between Natembeya and President William
Ruto over development projects and political influence in Trans Nzoia County.

The two leaders have recently exchanged criticism, with their disagreement centering
partly on a market project unveiled by the President.

Natembeya has maintained that the market is a county government initiative, disputing
any suggestion that the national government should take sole credit for the project.

The disagreement has fueled speculation about a widening political rift between
the governor and the President.

The reported police operation at Natembeya’s residence has now added another dimension
to the unfolding confrontation, attracting public attention and raising questions
about the circumstances surrounding the officers’ presence.

Residents seen in the circulating footage appear to be confronting the officers
gathered outside the property, although the full details of the exchange have not
been independently established.

It remains unclear whether the officers had an arrest warrant or whether the governor
was inside the residence when the operation began.

Neither the National Police Service nor the governor’s office has been confirmed
as having issued an official statement explaining the reported raid.

The development is likely to intensify debate over the relationship between national
and county governments, particularly when political disagreements involve elected
leaders and security agencies.

Kenyans are now waiting for an official explanation of the incident, including the
reasons behind the operation and whether Natembeya will be arrested.

Further details are expected as more information about the unfolding situation becomes
available.
