Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has fired a fiery political broadside at senior political
figures aligning themselves with impeached former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The outspoken lawmaker cautioned veteran leaders against falling into what he termed
a major political blunder by glorifying a ousted official whose term in office ended
in disgrace.

Taking aim at both seasoned politicians and public commentators, Olekina singled
out high-profile figures, including prominent lawyer Donald Kipkorir, for buying
into what he characterized as political drama engineered by the former second-in-
command.

According to the lawmaker, attempts to rehabilitate the image of the deposed deputy
president are based on political sentiment rather than sound national leadership,
urging observers to see past the public performances designed to court sympathy.

The senator dismissed the political maneuvers following the historic removal from
office, describing the former deputy president as a central actor in recent state
controversies who now holds no official mandate.

Olekina argued that giving continuous attention to post-impeachment grievances serves
only to distract the public from pressing national challenges and delays necessary
policy discussions across the country.

Emphasizing the need for a strategic reset, Olekina urged political actors across
the divide to move beyond past administration squabbles.

He insisted that the national discourse must urgently refocus on a genuine broad-
based development agenda aimed at addressing economic pressure, improving public
service delivery, and fostering inclusive growth.

The senator’s sharp remarks come amid ongoing political realignments as various
factions adjust to the restructured executive landscape following the high-profile
impeachment proceedings.
