Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reaffirmed opposition
solidarity following a high-stakes consultative meeting with former Deputy President
Rigathi Gachagua and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i.

The meeting took place in Nairobi amid rising public debate and internal tensions
over coalition building and the prospective opposition presidential ticket for the
2027 General Election.

Taking to social media shortly after the engagement, Kalonzo expressed strong optimism
about the coalition’s direction, emphasizing total unity among key political heavyweights.

Accompanying images of the three leaders standing side-by-side, Kalonzo emphasized
that the leaders are united in their collective resolve to offer alternative leadership
for the country.

His public reaction sought to dispel fears of internal fragmentation and signal
a synchronized effort to challenge the current administration.

The closed-door discussions follow recent public disagreements among opposition
principals regarding strategy, regional representation, and candidate selection.

Insiders view the engagement between Kalonzo, Gachagua, and Matiang’i as a crucial
move to iron out ideological differences, harmonize messaging, and establish a framework
for a formidable, unified electoral platform.

Matiang’i similarly echoed the spirit of reconciliation, reiterating that national
interests remain paramount for the leadership group.

The convergence of Kalonzo’s established political network, Gachagua’s Mount Kenya
voting base, and Matiang’i’s administrative influence represents a major development
in the restructuring of Kenya’s political landscape.

As opposition leaders step up consultative engagements across various regions, Kalonzo’s
reaction highlights a coordinated push to build momentum, consolidate regional bases,
and present a formidable front ahead of the upcoming electoral contest.
