# Dramatic Scenes As Linda Mwananchi MP Refuses To Greet Wetangula At Event

Dramatic scenes unfolded at a recent funeral service after National Assembly Speaker,
Honorable Moses Masika Wetangula, was publicly snubbed by a key Linda Mwananchi-
allied lawmaker in full view of mourners and cameras.

In widely circulated photos, Speaker Wetangula is seen extending his hand to greet
Bumula Member of Parliament, Honorable Jack Wamboka.

However, Wamboka completely ignored the gesture, leaving the Speaker’s hand hanging
in the air during the solemn event.

The awkward encounter immediately triggered widespread reactions online, with political
observers and citizens weighing in on the visible tension between the two leaders.

The cold exchange has sparked intense debate regarding the deteriorating relationship
between Wetangula and Wamboka. Notably, both political figures were close allies
during previous elections, hailing from Western Kenya where regional political realignments
are currently taking shape.

Wamboka’s deliberate refusal to shake hands with the Speaker underscores a growing
rift within the region’s political landscape, particularly among legislators affiliated
with the Linda Mwananchi caucus who have taken a strong stance against senior government
figures on various policy issues.

Kenyans have taken to social media platforms to express mixed feelings over the
incident. While some commentators criticized the Bumula lawmaker for disregarding
traditional protocols and showing disrespect to the head of the National Assembly
at a solemn gathering, others commended him for making a bold political statement
on behalf of the Linda Mwananchi movement.

As the pictures continue to circulate, members of the public are left asking hard
questions about what sparked the hostility between the former allies. Neither Speaker
Wetangula nor MP Jack Wamboka has issued an official statement regarding the incident,
but the dramatic snub signals rising political friction ahead of upcoming political
realignments.
