Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua reportedly dropped his impeachment case
yesterday, signaling a new dawn in the forthcoming general elections to be held 
in August next year.

President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto’s close ally, Dennis Itumbi has broken his
silence in the matter as he revealed what will happen to Hon Gachagua.

Senior government digital strategist Dennis Itumbi has stated that former Deputy
President Rigathi Gachagua’s political path has reached a definitive end following
the formal withdrawal of his High Court petitions challenging his impeachment. 

Itumbi emphasized that by instructing his legal team to pull the plug on the consolidated
court cases regarding his removal from office, Gachagua has effectively accepted
his status as an impeached leader.

According to Itumbi, the legal reality of the situation settles any lingering disputes
over the second-in-command’s constitutional standing, cementing his exit from the
country’s executive leadership.

Highlighting the legal implications of the decision, Itumbi pointed out that the
Kenyan Constitution explicitly bars individuals who have been impeached from holding
public office or steering political organizations.

With the withdrawal of the High Court petitions, the constitutional provisions on
