Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is expected to face senators on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He is supposed to defend himself with evidence against allegations he is facing from Kibwezi member of Parliament Mutuse.
Mutuse accused him of 11 offences including syphoning of public funds through proxies who are his family members. He is also accused of sabotaging government policies as per the evidence filled by the secretary to the cabinet.
Gachagua is also accused of causing political instability by publicly castigating National intelligence service people. While in Mombasa a few weeks ago, he blamed NIS for failing to brief the President of finance bill protests.
Well, senate speaker has delivered some unwanted news to Gachagua as he fights to protect his job.
According to the video of Amason Kingi speaking today at the Senate during the impeachment of Kericho Governor proceedings. He claimed that the courts cannot stop the impeachment motion once it gets to the Senate.
This is a blow to Gachagua who has been sending a battery of lawyers to courts in an attempt to stop the Senate from discussing his removal.
“BREAKING: Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has reminded Rigathi Gachagua’s lawyers that not even a court order will stop the Senate from stepping on the clutch pedal this Wednesday. Inject it in my veins.” Wrote Oguda.
