The Wiper Patriotic Front has issued a final reminder to politicians seeking its ticket in the 2027 General Election, directing all aspirants to register by Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday, the party said the requirement applies to first-time candidates and current office holders alike.
“Nobody is exempted,” the party declared, adding that sitting elected leaders must also go through the process whether they are defending their seats or contesting different positions.
Wiper said the exercise is part of preparations for free, fair and transparent nominations ahead of the August 10, 2027 General Election.
Aspirants are required to register through the party’s online portal, where they must provide their national identification number, names, phone number and date of birth.
They must also state the county, constituency and ward where they intend to contest, choose their preferred elective or nomination category, confirm their membership status and declare whether they are currently elected or nominated leaders.
Application fees vary by position. Governor aspirants pay Ksh50,000, while women, youth and persons with disabilities pay Ksh25,000.
Senatorial, National Assembly and Woman Representative aspirants pay Ksh20,000, reduced to Ksh10,000 for eligible women, youth and PWD applicants. Those eyeing Member of County Assembly seats pay Ksh10,000, with the concession group paying Ksh5,000.
The November 3 deadline follows an earlier extension. The party had initially asked aspirants to register by October 3 and set October 2 as the cutoff for already-elected Wiper leaders. On October 5, it extended the window to November 3, including for those seeking party-list nominations.
Wiper cautioned that registration does not guarantee a ticket. Registered candidates must still participate in the party’s nomination process.
The party, led by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, is expected to field candidates for elective positions at both national and county levels in the 2027 polls.
