Video: Gachagua Leaves Kenyans Stunned In Rongai After Explaining Why He Rushed Home From USA
Former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader, His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua, left residents of Ongata Rongai in Kajiado County stunned after offering a lighthearted yet sharp reason for cutting short his extended tour in the United States.
Addressing a charged crowd during his first campaign rally since returning to the country, the vibrant opposition leader launched direct attacks against President William Ruto.
Flanked by DCP-allied politicians, Gachagua electrified the gathering while taking aim at the state of the nation and warning supporters against political machinations engineered by the current administration.

Firing political salvos, the former second-in-command disclosed that while he was away in the United States, reports reached him that President Ruto was “adding weight”—a metaphor he used to describe the ruling administration expanding its political grip across various regions.
Gachagua told the cheering crowd that he had to immediately end his stay abroad and rush back to Kenya to launch full-scale political campaigns to counter the government’s moves.
During the rally at Kware stage, Gachagua urged residents to remain steadfast behind the DCP party and resist attempts by rival political factions to divide the electorate ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“My people of Rongai, do not fall for tactics meant to split our support. We must stay united under one banner,” Gachagua rallied the crowd, encouraging voters to elect DCP candidates across all elective seats, from MCAs to the presidency.
The viral video of Gachagua’s address has sparked widespread reaction online, signaling an intensified political showdown as opposition leaders step up grassroots mobilization across the country.
