Opposition Will Betray Kalonzo, Ruto Only True Friend to Kamba Community – Kawaya
Mwala Member of Parliament Vincent Musyoka, alias Kawaya, has renewed his push to have Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka join President William Ruto’s administration, warning that the opposition coalition will ultimately betray the former Vice President ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking in Machakos County, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) legislator cautioned Kalonzo against placing his political trust in a fragmented opposition. Kawaya claimed that rival opposition leaders are merely employing delaying tactics and will eventually bypass Kalonzo to back an alternative presidential candidate.
“The opposition will not favor Kalonzo’s candidature for the 2027 polls. Standing with an divided coalition guarantees that no single opposition candidate can beat President Ruto at the ballot,” Kawaya argued.

The Mwala MP framed President Ruto as the only leader genuinely committed to the welfare of the Ukambani region. He noted that after decades of government neglect following independence, the region is finally witnessing transformative infrastructure and development initiatives under the current administration.
“For long, the Ukambani region has been abandoned in terms of development, but since President Ruto ascended to power, tangible progress is visible across our counties,” Kawaya stated, urging Kalonzo to make a bold decision before his allies turn on him.
Kawaya’s remarks come amidst an ongoing effort by government-aligned politicians to persuade the Wiper leader to work with the administration. Several Wiper lawmakers have already shifted allegiance to the government side, reflecting a growing political realignment in the region as local leaders prioritize development over opposition politics.
Kawaya called on Kalonzo to act decisively and enter into a political partnership with President Ruto, arguing it remains the most viable path to ensure the Kamba community stays at the national decision-making table.
