Video: Watch As Natembeya Walks Away With People From A Funeral After Being Blocked By UDA MP From Addressing People
Drama in Trans Nzoia as Natembeya Walks Out of Funeral with Supporters
KIMININI, KENYA — A high-profile funeral in Kiminini, Trans Nzoia County, erupted into political drama after Governor George Natembeya staged a walkout accompanied by hundreds of mourners following a dispute over protocols.
The tension began during the burial service of Ambassador Burudi Nabwera. Video footage circulating online shows the event proceeding smoothly until Governor Natembeya was officially invited to address the congregation.
Before the governor could complete his remarks, local area Member of Parliament, Honorable Kakai Bisau, interjected from his seat. The MP claimed that allocated time for public speeches had elapsed and insisted that the church needed to immediately transition to the final committal at the gravesite.
The sudden interruption prompted a sharp reaction from the county chief. Rejecting the attempt to curtail his address, Natembeya stood up and exited the venue, prompting a massive wave of supporters and attendees to leave the burial grounds alongside him.

Following the walkout, Governor Natembeya convened a spontaneous rally at Kimilili market to address the crowds that had followed him. Speaking with heightened resolve, Natembeya launched a direct broadside against his political rivals, declaring that he would not be intimidated or silenced by opposing forces.
“I am going to fight those fighting me without any fear at all,” Natembeya assured the cheering gathering at the market.
The standoff highlights the escalating political friction in Trans Nzoia between county executive leadership and regional parliamentary representatives. Neither MP Kakai Bisau nor the funeral organizing committee has issued a formal statement regarding the incident.
